The 62nd Annual Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival is set to take place in Shepherd during the last full weekend of April

Due to the pandemic, this year’s Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival will feature a smaller schedule of events and run from Saturday, April 24 until Sunday, April 25. Events will include drive thru pancake and sausage meals, an emergency vehicle parade, 5k Run, a classic car show, horse pull, tractor pull, and a parade on Sunday.

A new event being added to the festival this year is the Artisan Row’s Maker’s Market. The market will feature unique works, wares and wonders while helping to raise money for the Shepherd Splash Park Project. The Artisan Row’s Maker’s Market will start on Friday and then run until Sunday.

The long-running tradition is completely dependent on volunteers who help out everywhere, from tapping the trees, to making the pancakes and coordinating the festival’s events.

Event information and other updates can be found on the festival’s website at http://www.shepherdmaplesyrupfest.org.

Given the current global pandemic, Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival is maintaining the health and safety of all guests and volunteers by strictly following CDC guidelines. We will encourage the use of face coverings and encourage social distancing. We will be implementing hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the event, and will encourage our guests and volunteers to monitor their health prior to entering the event space. Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival is continuing to update protocols to adhere to the current recommendations given by the CDC to ensure the health and well-being for all attendees.

  1. Since the pancake meals are scheduled to be “drive thru”, where are out of town guests supposed to eat them? Are you packaging small containers of syrup?

    • The annual indoor craft show has been canceled for this year. I’m certain that it will be back strong as ever again next year.
There will be an Artisan Row event at Veteran’s Memorial Park on April 23-25. Feel free to contact ArtisanRowEvents@gmail.com regarding participating in this event.

  2. Will syrup and sausage be available for purchase? If so where. We have always bought containers of syrup and 10# of sausage.

    • Hello Kathy,

Village yard sales are not part of the Festival’s lineup of events and are put on by private residents. However, we’ve heard of many that will be taking place.

  3. You need more traffic directors for traffic line for sausage and pancakes. We were just there and it was awful. One man and he didn’t seem to know what he was doing. We had prepaid tickets. And we were directed to a line that wasn’t a line. It was a parking area. Frustrated and disappointed. We left.
