Introducing Artisan Row’s Makers’ Market

/

Artisan Row Events was created to promote local and highly talented Michigan Artists while, at the same time, raising funds for local causes in need. The Shepherd Splash Park Project was chosen to be the beneficiary of the first Artisan Row event. The Artisan Row’s Makers’ Market Event will take place over Shepherd’s Maple Syrup Festival weekend (April 23-25). Artists and Artisans from across the state of Michigan will be set up in open-air, socially distanced, and marked locations throughout the Shepherd Village Limits, as well as at Veteran’s Memorial park, the future home of the Shepherd Splash Park.

.

We have a wide array of talented artists enlisted who will be selling one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items made using wood, resin, fabrics, paints, metals, pottery, and so much more. There will also be “Live” artists on hand, like a cotton candy artist who will be spinning sweet and flavorful art on sticks(Sweet Spinners), the infamous, Corby Blem will be set up with his drawing tools ready to do on-the-spot caricatures of festival goers, and Belle Barn Customs will be ready with all of the equipment needed to create customizable gifts, apparel, and more.

.

All of the events over the three day weekend, including the Festival’s, are completely outdoors. This will give Festival goers an opportunity to get out of the house with their family and friends and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities which include, a Saturday night emergency vehicle parade, Sunday’s Festival parade, a car show, tractor pulls, horse pulls, a pancake dinner drive-thru, yard sales, Artisan Row’s Makers’ Market, helicopter rides, shopping at Shepherd’s own Sugar Bush with their sweet maple goodies, and a 5k walk/run to burn it all off.

.

From every Vendor booth fee/donation of $120, $100 will go to the Shepherd Splash Park Fund and the remaining $20 will be used for signage and promotion of the event across the state of Michigan. This includes an interactive, digital map that shoppers will use (like a shoppers scavenger hunt, of sorts) to browse the location, Artist name, webpage, description and photos of items they will have available for purchase.

The next Artisan Row event is planned for October and will be benefiting the Shepherd Performing Arts Program.
